Hello!

Here is the Le Petite Project for July -- It is called George!

I did not get it quilted like I wanted but I did get the top done and I love the fabrics I used.

Can't wait to see what the August project is!

Some Sewing Done!

Good Morning!

How are you doing today? Finally the weather has cooled off a bit here, only in the mid 80's for the past 2 days and then towards the end of the week it will be HOT again. I have been spending some of the hot evenings in my sewing room, instead of my garden.

I had to remake a bag for the Quilting Gallery swap and here is what I made - I just love this, so cute with the Quilt shop fabric. I hope the gal I am mailing it to enjoys it.

Can you believe I am early on my July Le Petite project. I worked on it about an hour in the morning before work and then some in the evenings. I really like it. I used Mary Engelbreigt fabric with watering cans and bird houses, you can click to enlarge. I was wanting to do some teal and red - I hope to get it quilted this week so it will not be a UFO :)

And here is a photo of one of my Star Gazer Lillies from my garden, it was huge and smells so wonderful!

Well off to work this afternoon! You take care and have a great day!

HOT, HOT, HOT

Good morning!

It is about 80 this morning - that is cool since we have been in the 98 -100 degree days this past week. Heat will be back this afternoon!

Work is slow customer wise, but fast paced water wise, every little plant wants some water - so I have been out most of these hot days but with a nice cool hose so that keeps me going.

Surprising I have been working on the Le Petite Project for the month! Can't wait for you to see it, tomorrow I will have a sneak peek for you, I have 4 blocks already done and more in the works.

In fact that is what I am off to do, complete a few blocks before work!

Stay cool!

Back from the Retreat!

Hello!!

I am back from a weekend with the girls at our get-a-way! We go in late Jan and then again in July - this time there was 7 and we had such a great time!!

I did want to first show you this barbeque grill, that I talked about in my last post. Here it is. I just smile when I look at it! I am sure some of the neighbors don't appreciate it, but I love it!!

I did have a very busy weekend, this is the Mystery Quilt that I was doing at the LQS as the monthly BOM. I had most of the blocks sewn, I needed to make 10 blocks and assemble. I was up til 2:30 Saturday night putting it together. I just love the pink and brown, I was off today and hunted for a border, I want a pink with brown border but found nothing suitable, I am sure I will find something and get this one finished up.

This is something I actually finished, I needed to complete the binding and put on the buttons - I started this about 12 years ago! But it is finally done and will put hanging in our guest room.

This is something else I finished up on the retreat, I need to send it to the quilters, it was a New Years Eve Mystery that I started in 2007 - I had the blocks done, just need to work on the sashings and assemble, so glad it is this far. I almost did not get it done, I was missing 6 inches for the border, so I had to piece it. But I know I had the fabric prior to 2007 so piecing worked just fine for me and once it is quilted you will never see the seam.

OH and I also wanted to show you the new addition to our yard, It is a redbud tree and it might be small but in a few years it will be very pretty. I look forward to looking at it's flowers every spring.

I still need to complete the circle and add the mulch, but it is in the 90's this week and last week, so watering is plenty to do here, before I got to work and be outside all day!

Hope your having a good night!

Hello!

Hello!

It has been a while since I have blogged. Sorry it is summer and it gets hectic! I do have a finish to show you, it is a watermelon tabletopper, I got the fabric last year at a garage sale and I have use it on several things. Looks vintage to me.

I also have been working on a few other projects, I donate goodies to our local Hospice for BUNS baking up nice surprises, well I am not a great baker so I make something, for each bag, they distribute about 135 bags 3 times a year. This time since it was summer I enlisted the help of my sister in law that is a big scrapbooker, and has alot of punches, so she made me about 200 flower shapes, I drew the face and glued them onto a Dum Dum and then added the leaf, that she also cut out!! Thank you Leslie!

I then had many flowers left over and my bosses wife is in the hospital and I wanted to something for her, so since I work at a garden center this is what I came up with and I made this today before I went to work. Turned out cute I think - I sure hope if lifted her spirits a bit today.

Other than that I have been doing some gardening, here is a photo of my Creek side Garden it is at the back of our property. On the 4th of July we spread about 7 yards of mulch back there, so it is nice and cleaned up. See the red and yellow barbeque grill, I just got that out someones garbage, spray painted it red and painted yellow polka dots on it, what would the world be without dots?!?! I will put up another picture of the grill tomorrow. It is cute!

Do you have any plans for the weekend? I sure do it is QUILT GET A WAY Weekend!! We leave on Friday and come home on Sunday!! I already have my projects packed! Can't wait

Well off to bed!

Happy 4th Of July!

Good Morning!

How are you doing? Well most folks started their 3 day weekend Friday night, but since I work at a garden center and summer is a busy time, I started mine last night!

We went to a smaller town a few towns away from ours and saw the fireworks - there were great!

Today I am spreading mulch and cooking out and then off to a neighboring towns festival for the evening and more fireworks! Hoping to get a little sewing in today too!
